Independent UK card payment reviews
Is your PayPal deal still earning its place?
We review your PayPal statement, rates, account fees, terminals and contract terms to work out what the arrangement is really costing your business—and whether it still fits the way you trade.
Independent review. No obligation to switch. We never contact PayPal without your permission.
Provider pricing and terms vary by business and can change. Published details are linked to official sources where available; the figures that matter are the ones on your own statement, quote and signed agreement.
What we check on a PayPal arrangement
PayPal Checkout lets UK ecommerce businesses accept PayPal balance, cards and Pay in 3 through PayPal's hosted flow. Fees are typically higher than dedicated card acquirers, but PayPal often converts customers who wouldn't complete a card payment.
A review usually focuses on whether PayPal is genuinely additive to card processing, or whether volume has grown to a point where a dedicated Interchange Plus provider would be materially cheaper on the same transactions.
- Standard ratePercentage plus fixed fee per transaction for UK domestic sales.
- Cross-border feeAdditional percentage on international transactions.
- Currency conversionApplied on non-GBP transactions.
- Chargeback feeFixed fee per raised chargeback outside seller protection.
Contract, terminals, payment channels and settlement considerations
- No fixed-term contract - use is governed by PayPal's terms of service.
- Pricing tiers can be negotiated at higher volume.
- No termination fee - you can stop using PayPal at any time.
- Rolling reserves may apply to higher-risk accounts and are released on PayPal's own schedule.
Businesses PayPal may or may not suit
Why businesses ask for a review
- PayPal is a large share of turnover and the blended rate has never been benchmarked.
- You want to check whether Pay in 3 volume justifies the pricing.
- You are being held on a rolling reserve you don't fully understand.

No. We never contact your current provider without your written permission. The review is private and entirely for your information.

We will confirm the expected review time after receiving your information.
What does the review actually check?
Transaction rates, terminal rental, PCI fees, authorisation fees, monthly minimums, settlement timings, contract length, exit fees and any additional charges specific to your account.
